Expect a warmer and more humid day to close out the weekend on Sunday with a chance for a few late evening showers and storms.
A southwest wind will push high temperatures on Sunday into the mid-to-upper 80s, especially inland away from the south coast. Sunday will also be noticeably more humid, feeling a bit tropical.
A cold front will cross New England late Sunday evening, bringing a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. There’s even a low risk that a storm or two could become strong to severe with gusty winds the main threat.
The primary time to watch for showers and storms will be after sunset from 8 p.m. to midnight, so most of the day will be dry.
Behind that cold front, it turns much cooler and almost fall-like. High temperatures Monday through Wednesday will stay in the low 70s, and with low humidity, it will feel refreshing to be outdoors.
Major Hurricane Erin will pass well south and east of New England from Wednesday into Thursday. High surf at our beaches will be the biggest threat locally. Use caution if headed to the beach during the mid-week…
