Spot shower possible Monday, followed by fall-like weather in Southern New England

A few widely scattered rain showers are possible on Monday as a cold front sweeps across Southern New England, followed by cooler temperatures giving us a taste of fall to close out August.

An area of low pressure will pass east of New England Monday morning, bringing the best chance for a steadier period of light to moderate rain across the Cape and Islands. A shower can’t be ruled out across the I-95 corridor from Bristol County, Massachusetts into Rhode Island, but the rain chance is lower the farther west one goes.
