According to police, in August 2025, the Pawtucket Police Department received numerous reports of dirt bikes and ATVs riding in sizable packs throughout the city, particularly around the East Avenue section of the Oak Hill neighborhood. Complainants described riders engaging in hazardous maneuvers like wheelies and burnouts while ignoring traffic regulations, akin to participants in “ride-out” gatherings. These events typically feature crowds of riders who disrupt roadways, flout traffic rules, harass drivers, and execute risky tricks, posing dangers to themselves and others.
On August 30, 2025, Pawtucket’s Special Squad teamed up with Providence Police Department’s Community Response Team (CRT) for a coordinated effort targeting an anticipated “ride-out” involving unauthorized dirt bikes, ATVs, e-bikes, and off-road vehicles expected to cross both cities.
