PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Emerson DaCruz, an industrial painter from Pawtucket, was looking forward to joining the roughly 1,000 local union workers that have raked in 2 million hours building a new wind farm off Rhode Island’s coast.
The project, Revolution Wind, was set to power 350,000 homes across Rhode Island and Connecticut. DaCruz was expecting to make $59 an hour, and was banking on overtime.
