PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha announced that a Providence woman has been charged in superior court with willfully neglecting a non-verbal woman in her care.
Roberta Gerald, 43, is accused of neglecting Linda DaLomba, the 45-year-old woman with special needs who went missing for several days in March.
Prosecutors said Gerard is facing charges of neglect of an adult with severe impairments, failing to provide treatment, care, goods and services to necessary to maintain the health and safety of an adult with developmental disabilities, obstructing an officer in the execution of duty, and knowingly making a false statement of a crime.
According to officials, Gerard, who was employed at Seven Hills Group Home in Lincoln, had picked up the 45-year-old intellectually and developmentally disabled woman for a required day out on March 19…
