DEDHAM, MA — Brian Walshe, the Massachusetts man accused of murdering his wife Ana Walshe, was stabbed inside the Norfolk County jail just weeks before his highly anticipated trial. Authorities confirmed the 43-year-old was treated at a Boston hospital before being returned to the facility.
Details of the Jail Assault
The Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. in a jail housing unit. An inmate armed with a makeshift blunt instrument attacked Walshe before correctional officers intervened.
“The individual who was assaulted was conscious and alert and taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston for treatment,” the sheriff’s office stated. “He was returned to our facility overnight.”
The identity of the assailant has not been released, and the attack remains under investigation. Officials are now expected to reassess Walshe’s security status.
