Warwick friends help renovate Oakland Beach skatepark to encourage youth

WARWICK, R.I. (WJAR) — A group of friends, alongside community members have recently taken the initiative to revitalize a local skatepark.

Built in the early 2000’s on city-owned property, the Oakland Beach Skatepark was once full of life.

“It was really nice at first,” said resident Michael Fratus.“Kids were graffitiing it, it was overgrown, it was not the best area to come out to and we wanted to see the kids come back to it.”…
