PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — A vacant triple-decker on Pine Street in Providence caught fire again early Thursday morning, and city officials say demolition is finally moving forward after years of problems.
The Providence Fire Department said crews responded to 431 Pine St. just after 2 a.m. Flames were visible from the second and third floors, but no injuries were reported.
The property has a history of fires. In April 2024, flames tore through the building, causing the roof to collapse. Two months later, another fire broke out. Surveillance video from that incident showed someone walking between the two buildings before flames quickly spread…
