Rhode Island State Police celebrate 100th anniversary with toy slumber party at museum

SCITUATE, R.I. (WJAR) — It’s a slumber party for toys!

On Saturday afternoon, a group of children organized by the Hope Library in Scituate visited the Rhode Island State Police Museum to learn about the state police, meet state troopers and to leave their favorite toys overnight to spend a night at the museum.

In the book “The Night at the Museum” and the similarly-titled movie, exhibits at New York’s American Museum of Natural History come alive at night.

This weekend, the plan is for toys children leave overnight to come alive and enjoy adventures with Trooper Boots, a stuffed Teddy Bear and Rhode Island State Police mascot…
