Gov. McKee, Healey prepare for potential impacts of government shutdown

Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee and Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey weighed in on how a government shutdown would directly impact residents in Southern New England.

McKee spoke with NBC 10 on Tuesday and said the state is preparing for what may come with a shutdown.

“We’re focused on the idea of keeping as many people employed as we can and preparing for a shutdown that could be lengthy, and then also the impact its going to have on our the people who are, especially on HealthSource Rhode Island, we are looking at a situation where its like a snowball headed down a hill, we don’t know exactly where its going to end up, but its going to become more and more of a problem as that snowball gets bigger and bigger,” he said…
