Rampage in Dartmouth: man allegedly robs shop, slashes at cashiers, issues death threats, leads police on chase

FALL RIVER, Mass. — A 40-year-old man from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, is being held without bail after allegedly carrying out a terrifying armed robbery at a Dartmouth smoke shop, leaving employees in fear for their lives.

The incident unfolded on July 18, 2024, shortly after 6:15 p.m., when Dartmouth Police responded to an emergency call at King Smoke Shop on 255 State Road (Route 6).

According to authorities, the suspect, Muhammad Sheikh, stormed into the store brandishing a knife. He reportedly slashed the weapon toward several employees while issuing explicit death threats, creating a scene of chaos and panic.
