McKee signs bill requiring buildings to have adult changing tables

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Bathrooms in Rhode Island will soon be more accessible for people with disabilities and their caretakers.

Gov. Dan McKee signed a bill into law on Tuesday, requiring all newly constructed buildings to include at least one adult-sized changing station in their design plans.

Facilities must have clear signage, adjustable tables that support up to 350 pounds, and adequate space for caregivers…
