WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Over the last several days, thousands of people across Southern New England stood in lines for hours to try and make sure their families would have food.
Largely due to the government shutdown, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for millions of Americans weren’t loaded onto Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards on Nov. 1.
The Associated Press reported Monday that the Trump administration will partially fund SNAP, but it is still unclear when people will get even a portion of their benefits.
