PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — HealthSource RI says its average customer will see their monthly bill double, with a federal benefit set to expire.
The enhanced federal tax benefits were established in 2014 under the Affordable Care Act. But the benefit that’s set to expire at the end of the year has been at the center of the government shutdown stalemate over the last month.
“We will work on fixing the bad health care that we have,” President Donald Trump said Sunday on 60 Minutes. “Right now, we have terrible health care and too expensive for the people, not for the government, for the people.”
