(WJAR) — The Rhode Island Foundation is set to distribute $1 million in emergency grants for food distribution to help as SNAP funding continues to stall.
The move is to help keep the 140,000 who rely on SNAP for sustenance to get fed.
“We are set up to meet moments like this. By working with our network of community partners, we are able to put our funding to work quickly and efficiently to feed neighbors who have been coping with the prospect of going hungry,” the Foundation’s president and CEO David N.
