2nd person tests positive for West Nile virus in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — There have now been two human cases of West Nile virus in Rhode Island in 2025 after recent testing confirmed the presence of the virus.

The R.I. Department of Health announced Tuesday that a person in their 50s from Providence County tested positive for the mosquito-borne disease. That person first started experiencing symptoms in early October and has since recovered.
