WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — A vigil was held in Woonsocket Sunday evening for recent deaths and victims of recent violence in the city, including those who were tragically killed in a murder-suicide Monday.
The vigil, organized by The Milagros Project, happened at the plaza in the heart of Woonsocket, at the corner of South Main and River Streets.
“People like to focus on the negative, and you know, that they were victims of crimes,” Bonnie Piekarski, executive director of The Milagros Project, told 12 News. “But these are real people, with real lives, and they have people that love and care for them, and that was shown tonight.”…
