DHS: ICE detained ‘habitual criminal offender’ in Warren

WARREN, R.I. (WPRI) — The man arrested earlier this week by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Warren was ordered to be deported more than 15 years ago, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Christopher Celozzi, a public affairs specialist with DHS, said Alvin Green is a “habitual criminal offender” whose record includes charges of felony assault, forgery, and drug possession.

Green, who’s from Liberia, entered the U.S. legally in September 2004, but violated the terms of his admission, Celozzi said. A judge ordered that he be deported in December 2009…
