Crash leads to drug, reckless driving arrest in Scituate

SCITUATE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Woonsocket man is facing charges after he allegedly caused a four-car crash in Scituate on Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the intersection of Hartford Pike and Chopmist Hill Road around 9:30 a.m. and found vehicles with “significant damage,” with one resting against a tree about 50 feet away.

Police said they had also received reports of an erratic driver believed to have caused the crash. Witnesses told officers that a gold Chevy Malibu was traveling about 80 mph and tried to pass stopped cars at a red light before hitting them and colliding head-on with another vehicle.
