Rhode Island man among 14 charged in New Jersey sports betting ring crackdown

A Rhode Island man is one of 14 charged in a multi-million sports betting ring in New Jersey.

Officials said the head of the operation, identified as 55-year-old Joseph M. “Little Joe” Perna, was charged along with his sons, stepson, nephews and others with racketeering, conspiracy, gambling offenses and money laundering.
