Customer takes dealership, automaker to court over recalled car

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Bethany Vanech’s Jeep Grand Cherokee was part of a recall that left it undrivable for months because of a code defect.

She told 12 Responds she tried to negotiate with the Elmwood Auto Group to transfer her lease to a new car, but the two sides couldn’t reach an agreement. She then filed a lawsuit against the dealership and the automaker, Stellantis.
