CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — After serving Awful Awfuls for more than 60 years, the Newport Creamery at Garden City Center in Cranston is set to close a year earlier than expected.
The restaurant’s last day will be Dec. 28, according to a release from The Jan Companies, which owns the restaurant.
“We are deeply saddened to leave Garden City after six decades of memories, celebrations, and connections with generations of Rhode Island,” the release said. “This location has meant so much to our customers and our team, and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has visited us over the years.”…
