ACLU raises concerns over widespread use of flock cameras in Rhode Island

CRANSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — The ACLU of Rhode Island is voicing concern over the growing use of flock cameras in the region. The cameras capture photos of the backside of cars and their license plates as they drive by.

“These cameras are used to map out someone’s whereabouts,” ACLU policy analyst Madalyn McGunagle said. “Because they’re popping up all over the state, they can basically make a map of where someone goes throughout their day.”
