Taunton auditor gets $50K raise as budget director plans 2026 retirement

Taunton’s Auditor Ian Fortes will receive an estimated $50,000 salary increase starting this December, according to an addendum to his contract.

The raise came under discussion during the City Council meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 25, where Councilor Estele Borges questioned the increase.

Taunton Chief Financial Officer Patrick Dello Russo said the salary increase reflects Fortes taking on additional job responsibilities in anticipation of Budget Director Gill Enos’s upcoming retirement. Enos noted during the meeting that he plans to retire “sometime in 2026.”…
