BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (WPRI) — For Kathleen Kelley, July 3, 2025, was one of the scariest moments of her 25-year career with the Burrillville Police Department.
Kelley and three other officers were called to investigate reports of shots fired at a Tarkiln Road home that morning. Body-worn camera footage shows Kelley knocking on a door, stepping back and waiting for someone to answer.
She was not expecting an intoxicated man to open the door and immediately point a loaded 9mm handgun within inches of her face.
