Choking hazard prompts recall of 17,000 children’s cups

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Around 17,000 children’s cups are being recalled because they pose a choking risk, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

HydroJug is recalling its 14-ounce children’s sports tumbler because the metal fasteners on the handle can become loose and cause the handle to fall off, which can pose a choking hazard for children.

CPSC reports 656 instances of the handle coming loose, but no reports of injuries so far…
