Unemployment fraud in Rhode Island has plunged to levels not seen since before the pandemic, after reaching record highs and draining millions from the state’s trust fund.
New data from the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training shows confirmed fraud made up 38% of unemployment claims in 2020. So far this year, it accounts for less than 1%.
