BURRILLVILLE – The owner of Burrillville’s most famous haunted attraction has entered an agreement with an attorney to sell the property to well known paranormal personality Jason Hawes for $1.3 million, according to documents filed in Rhode Island Superior Court this week.
But the lawsuit, filed by Elizabeth Greenhalgh of Utah, the sister of owner Jacqueline Nunez, states that Nunez was legally incompetent and not of sound mind when she signed an agreement hiring Hawes’s associate Julia Demay to facilitate a sale of the property known as The Conjuring House, contesting a reported upcoming transfer.
Greenhalgh is looking to stop the sale, stating Nunez lacked the capacity to enter into the power of attorney arrangement, and that the agreement is therefore void and unenforceable.
The complaint notes that Demay either has entered, or will soon enter, a purchase and sale agreement with Hawes, the star of Syfy’s “Ghost Hunters.”…
