Community rallies to support Providence musician after theft

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — After a long day of making music, Christopher Mitchell exited the Union Station Brewery Monday night to pack up his gear for the night after hosting karaoke. He was devastated to find his car windows smashed and his piano, laptop and iPad missing.

“It was quite devastating. There’s glass smashed everywhere,” Mitchell told NBC10. “I discovered two of my windows were smashed and they stole my keyboard, which is how I earn a living, frankly.”

He said he walked away from his car for “five minutes” between trips bringing his sound system from the venue into his car…
