JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after a car crashed into a fuel pump at a Johnston gas station Friday afternoon.
First responders were called to RoadRunners off Hartford Avenue just before 2 p.m. following reports of a car crash in the parking lot.
Police said the driver was attempting to reposition the vehicle at the fuel pump prior to the crash. Investigators believe the driver accidentally accelerated forward into the fuel pump, causing it to dislodge and catch fire…
