COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) — The emaciated dog found in a Coventry woman’s home last month has officially found his forever home.
The German Shepherd, named Hanz, left Coventry Animal Control with his new family on Friday.
Hanz was discovered on Dec. 19 by officers who were called to a Circlewood Drive home to conduct an animal wellbeing check.

Police said Hanz was confined to a sunroom with no access to food or water. He was also clearly emaciated “with his ribs, hips and spine visible through the skin.”
Hanz was immediately removed from the home and brought to an emergency animal hospital for treatment. Coventry Animal Control put Hanz up for adoption after nursing him back to health…
