Residents jump out of window to escape fire in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — The Providence Fire Department said that residents of a home on Waverly Street had to jump from a third-story window to escape a fire on Sunday.

The fire started around 5:30 a.m. in a second floor hallway and blocked the interior staircase.

First responders had to transport several people, including a child, to the hospital with injuries “ranging from minor to severe.”…
