SWANSEA — The Vintage Barn liquor store at 580 GAR Highway that faced foreclosure was sold to the highest bidder, Marino Benevides, at a Jan. 30 public auction.
A handful of eager bidders huddled against the refurbished barn — which initially came from Booneville, New York, had been reassembled along Route 6 in 2000 and carried a generous selection of beers, ports, and wines — as bitter temperatures dulled the liveliness of the noontime auction.
