Hartford, Connecticut – A powerful Arctic outbreak is set to bring dangerously cold and potentially life-threatening conditions across Connecticut and Rhode Island beginning Friday, as strong winds and plunging temperatures grip southern New England through the weekend and into early next week.
According to the National Weather Service, wind gusts could reach 45 to 50 mph at times, driving wind chills well below zero across both states, especially Friday night through Sunday morning.
