PROVIDENCE – “Ghost Hunters” star Jason Hawes already owns The Conjuring House and is simply waiting for a court to tell him to whom he has to pay off the mortgage so he can close on the property, his lawyer told a Superior Court judge the afternoon of Thursday, Feb. 5.
Lawyer Nicole M. Labonte was arguing before Judge Christopher K. Smith in one of at least four cases in two different states swirling around what will happen to the centuries-old Burrillville farmhouse that inspired the 2013 movie “The Conjuring.”
Thursday’s case is about whether Needham Bank can undo what it says was an erroneous filing in town land records that canceled the mortgage that owner Jacqueline Nuñez signed when she borrowed $1.22 million in 2022 to buy the house for a total of $1.525 million. Hawes is not a party to that case, but yesterday’s hearing was about whether he should be allowed to become a party…
