Pediatrician reprimanded after child was pricked by used needle

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Department of Health has reprimanded a Warwick pediatrician after a toddler pricked his finger on a used needle in an exam room.

Though the needle and syringe were in a “sharps” container, a consent order obtained by 12 News reveals that the child was able to access them through an opening in the lid.

The order states the toddler “pricked his finger on the needle, drawing blood.”…
