RISPCA provides update on 100 cats rescued in Woonsocket

WARWICK, R.I. (WJAR) — The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals provided an update on the 100 cats that were rescued from a home in Woonsocket on Feb. 13.

The cats were “adjusting to their new surroundings” and the organization had received “over $25,000” in donations for the cats.

“We are continuing to assess their medical needs and hope to be able to provide their spay/neuter surgeries over the next several weeks,” a spokesperson for RISPCA said. “Some of the male cats will need additional eye surgeries to correct for tomcat cheeks resulting from not being neutered at a young age.”…
