Mother trapped alive with dead son weeks before bodies found outside hospital

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence police struggled to locate an elderly homeless woman after a caller reported she was trapped in a snow-covered car with her dead son — and two weeks later, both were found dead in a parking lot outside Miriam Hospital.

The pair, identified by Providence police as 75-year-old Irina Kozak and her 49-year-old son, Stanislaw Kozak, had been living in their white Kia for about a year, according to a police call log obtained by Target 12.
