Over 300 cars towed in Providence so far, with more to come

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – The city of Providence ramped up efforts to clear streets ahead of Monday’s blizzard, towing hundreds of cars and issuing even more tickets.

Providence Police Col. Oscar Perez said the towing operations were temporarily suspended at 4 a.m., but will resume as soon as the weather allows.

“Our community has been extremely cooperative, the majority of our residents,” Perez told 12 News. “But we’re still having some challenges to get full compliance from everyone.”…
