Pawtucket firefighters get stuck in snow responding to small electrical fire

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Firefighters in Pawtucket had to have their truck pulled to the scene of a small electrical fire after the engine got stuck in the snow Monday afternoon.

Marcos Valladares said he was watching television shortly before 3 p.m. when all of a sudden, he and other tenants started smelling smoke. When they couldn’t identify the source, they called the fire department.

“Thank God that they were working because they had to walk here. They couldn’t get down the street,” Valladares said in a virtual interview with 12 News.

Police and fire personnel responded to the scene on Arch Street around 3:15 p.m. on foot, as the street was covered in feet of snow. A firetruck got there 10 minutes later, according to a Valladeres, with some help from what appeared to be a front end loader truck…
