State Police have announced multiple arrests after a crash and shooting on a local highway.
According to police, on Wednesday, the Rhode Island State Police and its law enforcement partners made numerous arrests stemming from a highway shooting that occurred on December 29, 2025.
On December 29, 2025, Troopers responded to a multi-car crash on Route 95 South in the area of Smithfield Avenue in Providence. Reporting parties advised that the occupants of one of the vehicles involved had exited their vehicle and fled from the scene on foot. During the investigation it was determined that this was a targeted incident where one of the vehicles involved had fired approximately 19 rounds of gunfire at a second vehicle, which was struck approximately 10 times by gunfire. The two vehicles involved in the shooting incident then caused a motor vehicle crash with a third uninvolved vehicle.
