NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — North Providence Mayor Charlie Lombardi is defending the use of town Department of Public Works employees and equipment to repair his personal truck.
Target 12 began receiving tips Thursday about a truck being worked on at a DPW garage in North Providence. Video showed the Silverado — which is not a town vehicle — on a lift inside the garage, while other town vehicles sat in the lot.
In an interview with Target 12, Lombardi confirmed the 2006 Chevy Silverado was his own. He justified the use of town resources, saying he used his truck to plow town roads following the blizzard and other storms this winter…
