Dunkin’ surprises RI stroke survivor who went viral practicing coffee order in recovery

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A Cranston man who has spent weeks in speech therapy practicing his Dunkin’ order after a sudden stroke will now receive his iced coffees “on the house” for the next year.

After Rich McMahon suffered a serious stroke on Oct. 11, 2025, he and his family have been navigating a difficult recovery. He spent weeks in the hospital and underwent emergency surgery to remove part of a clot that had traveled to his brain, according to a GoFundMe page.

His wife, Liz McMahon, said doctors initially warned them that Rich might never walk or speak again. But he has since proved those predictions wrong…
