Man broke into same Cranston gas station twice in a month, police say

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A Cranston man is facing charges in connection with multiple break-ins and vandalism incidents reported last month.

Police said 33-year-old Martin Gannon was captured on surveillance footage throwing a cinder block through the front door of the Citgo off Pontiac Avenue just before 4 a.m. on Feb. 7. He allegedly stole four cartons of cigarettes and caused nearly $800 in damages.

Surveillance video also showed the same suspect throwing a cinder block onto the hood and windshield of a car on Laurens Street, according to police.

Then on Feb. 24, Gannon allegedly broke the front door of the same gas station around 4:30 a.m. and stole $222 in cash and 15 packs of cigarettes. Police said the damage from this incident is estimated to cost almost $1,000…
