Rhode Island Energy (RIE) has shown significant improvements in electric reliability for its customers following the coldest winter in more than 30 years and the historic Blizzard of ‘26.
The blizzard dumped record snowfall, up to three feet, and more in some areas. The winter also brought gusting winds and severe cold. Through it all, the electric system delivered strong, resilient performance — reflecting RIE’s continued reliability investments in advanced technology and devices, vegetation management and system upgrades.
