Smithfield Town Council looks to ban short-term rentals ahead of World Cup, but Airbnb host pushes back

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) — A tiny home overlooking Slack Reservoir in Smithfield has been in Corey Martineau’s family for decades.

“It’s 200 square feet of coziness,” Martineau told 12 News on Tuesday. “I’m eager to share everything Smithfield has to offer. The growth of this town is of great concern to me.”
