RI education board votes to shorten school year due to blizzard

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The current school year will be a little shorter for students in Rhode Island.

The state’s Board of Elementary and Secondary Education passed a waiver Tuesday night allowing districts to be in school for only 178 days, instead of the traditional 180.
