Hendricken graduate pitching on ‘world’s biggest stage’

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Pitching in the big leagues has been Michael King’s dream since he was 8 years old.

“I would put him to bed, and two or three hours later he’d still be up staring at the ceiling,” his mother, Michele King, said. “I’d say, ‘Honey, why are you still awake?’ He’d say, ‘I’m thinking about what I want to do when I make it to the New York Yankees.’”

“He was never into theater or music — he didn’t like being on stage,” she continued. “Now he’s on the world’s biggest stage.”

Though he was born in Rochester, New York, Michael grew up in Warwick and graduated from Bishop Hendricken High School in 2013…
