WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — The city of Warwick will be extending the school day by 15 minutes district-wide, beginning Friday, April 10, for the remaining 44 days of the school year.
In a notice to the community on Thursday, April 9, Warwick Public Schools revealed that the district’s plan to make up missed school days from the Blizzard of ’26 had been approved by the Rhode Island Education Commissioner.

“We apologize for the late notice; however, this is the earliest we were able tocommunicate this information,” the district wrote. “Thank you for your continued flexibility and support as we work to ensure all state instructional requirements are met.”
