NEW YORK (PIX11) — After a relatively quiet weekend, the tri-state area is preparing for a smattering of rain over the course of multiple days.
Heavy storms and showers are expected to hit New York and New Jersey on Monday. A majority of New Jersey is under a flood watch as of Sunday through Monday night.

The rain is expected to start some time after midnight and carry through the morning commute, with heavy pockets headed for New York City and surrounding areas. The evening commute could be just as treacherous with potential downpours around the 4 p.m. hour.
